A Maloca is a traditional Amazonian ceremonial house—a sacred space where communities gather for healing, celebration, and spiritual connection. The maloca is crafted to be in harmony with the surrounding forest.
In the context of plant medicine, the maloca serves as the heart of the retreat, the place where Ayahuasca ceremonies are held. Its round, open design symbolizes unity and protection, allowing energy to flow while creating a safe, grounded environment for deep inner work.
Within the maloca, participants are held in a space of tradition, intention, and guidance, supported by the shaman’s icaros, the presence of the plants, and the collective energy of the group. It is a place where healing unfolds, insights emerge, and the spirit of the medicine is honored.

Centro Metsa Noma is nestled in the small Shipibo village of San Salvador, about 40 minutes outside of Pucallpa, Peru. Surrounded by lush rainforest and the peaceful rhythms of village life, it offers a quiet, natural setting ideal for healing, reflection, and connection with the medicine.
Far from the noise of the city yet close enough for easy travel, San Salvador provides the perfect balance of seclusion, safety, and authenticity, allowing guests to experience the Amazon in a genuine and grounded way.

Our retreat center offers a comfortable and peaceful place to rest during your stay. We have a six-bedroom house, with a combination of private single-occupancy rooms and shared rooms for those who prefer community or are traveling with companions.
Each room is simple, clean, and designed to support rest, reflection, and integration throughout your retreat. Surrounded by the quiet of the village and the beauty of the Amazon, our accommodations provide a nurturing space to relax between ceremonies and activities.
